Thomas Winter is a professor for Mathematics at the Beuth university of applied sciences in Berlin since April 2012. His main research interest are in the fields of mathematical optimizations and time series analysis with main applications in revenue management and transport and logistics. He received his diploma in Mathematics in 1993 and hier Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1999, both from Technical University Braunschweig. His diploma thesis was concerned with adaptive methods in time-series analysis. His Ph.D. thesis was concerned with online and real-time optimization methods in bus, tram, and container depots. From 2000 until 2007 he worked for Siemens Mobile Networks and Nokia Siemens Networks as systems engineer, project manager and team leader for mobile network planning, dimemsioning and optimization of 2G, 3G and LTE mobile networks. From 2008 until 2012 he worked for Lufthansa Systems where he developed optimization and forecast methods revenue management under customer choice options.
